Thingfling.com is one of those “One Sale A Day” sites that offer great bargains if you need whatever the one item is they happen to be selling that day. Every so often they offer a special deal on a Mystery Box. Unlike woot!’s “Bag of Crap” which always goes for $1.00, the price of the Thingfling mystery box varies each time they offer it, anywhere between $1.00 and $45.00. For $2.99, I decided to solve their latest mystery and find out what’s in the box.
$3.20 USD was deducted from my Paypal account and my package was shipped promptly the next day. It seems Thingfling hails from Elizabeth, NJ, or at least that’s the location they ship from. A few days later I received my mystery box. Inside were a number of small items all made in China. Below is what I received, and the approximate value of the item.
- 10 Piece Mini Screwdriver Set, Value $.95 on Amazon.com
- 8 Piece Mini Screwdriver Set with belt clip, Value: $.99 on Ebay
- 3 pack of Super Glue, Value: $.99 on Ebay
- Sandisk Shoot&Store Card 128mb, Value: $.99 on Ebay
Pretty much all junk. Valuing the items at $4.00 is being generous. I doubt these were left over items from their sales. Most likely the items were purchased in bulk for the sale. Next time I’ll just stick with woot!. For those interested in seeing what people received from their random “bags of crap” from woot!, click here: http://www.bagsofcrap.com/
