Dropaholics.com is a “made for Entrecard” site that I find very interesting. Developed by Greg Mathews, it tells you who are the most prolific droppers based upon a small sample of the Entrecard community. That makes 3 methods to date that attempt to provide this information to you.
Method 1: Manually look at a person’s Entrecard profile. It will say something like “A dedicated dropper with a hint of addiction”. But there is no way to find other dedicated droppers, certainly in any list format. You don’t know if these droppers reciprocate drops, or drop on different people nightly.
Method 2: Use the Turnip of Power Droplist. I conveniently ranked 250-300 people on how often they drop on my site. Since I drop on them 30 times a month, those who always reciprocate make the top of the list.
Method 3: Dropaholics.com allows users to input their Entrecard profile, and also their top dropper RSS feed. No sign up beyond that is required. The results of the RSS feeds are tabulated, giving 25 points to #1 on each list, 24 points to #2, and so on. Highest scoring droppers make the top 100 list. The list is updated often, so you can see your rank change immediately after dropping cards for the day.
My opinion: The list fascinates me because I’ve never seen many of the top blogs listed there before. Since my own list is down to around 240 names, I was happy to visit some new blogs for a change. Not to mention making the various lists gives you an additional do-follow link, and some traffic from your site appearing on the list. While droplists in general are a thing of the past, it doesn’t hurt to submit your details there and have them added to the stats database. Below is a screenshot of the site, fast loading and basic.

I also liked how I immediately jumped up between #4 and #8 on the list. If even a small fraction of the 300 people I drop on nightly submit their RSS feed, I should easily reach the #1 position there. See, there’s always a hidden motive behind my posts.
For those who like widgets, Dropaholics also offers configurable widget code. If dropping Entrecards is your thing, go check it out. If you are on my droplist, I suggest adding your RSS feed details to their database. If you left Entrecard already, then skip it.
OK, I’ll skip it.
Seriously though, the thing I like the most on Dropaholics is the great coding. All those gravatars popping up amongst the stuff from the feed is very neat. Whoever did this most certainly knows what they are doing. Speed wise this site is also way up there.
Thanks Turnip! Just added my blog. Cheers!
Kudos for Greg and his efforts. Very interesting how things and sites are ranked.
I like the idea behind it and how the site ranks the top 100 “dropaholics”.
It shows Turnip of Power at a very high spot, congratulations.
Archon: It was the absense of my name that first attracted me there. I wondered how a site could claim to rank droppers and not list me at all. I then realized I needed to add my name, and the names of those I drop on to get listed.
As always, quite an interesting post – but have you noticed how many of the original ‘power droppers’ that have pushed quick and easy ways of dropping 300 per day in 15 minutes have disappeared? Their blogs are still on Entrecard but perhaps the quick and easy ways weren’t quite enough. Most of us enjoy a little participation and blogs we can navigate around easily.
Polly: There are numerous reasons for those people to have left. First Entrecard banned droplist pages and made scripting tougher. The changes in the TOS, the inability to sell credits, and the cleanup of thousands of splogs drove many out once they couldn’t powerdrop for a few dollars. A whole different group left because they found the owner to be a complete A-hole.
However, these same reasons apply to those who casually drop. Many of them have left as well. In the end, Entrecard delivered similar results as stumbleupon, with 100 times the effort. While I haven’t stopped dropping cards, I have stopped posting in the EC forums.
I added the widget(s) to my blogs too. Congrats on being so high in rank Turnip.
I recently did a post about this site myself as I noticed some traffic coming my way from the Feedjit widget on my blog. Glad you have posted about it too, and congratulations on making the top ten. I also noticed sites that I had not come across before on this list, and because I drop from bookmarked folders, I was able to improve my reciprocal drop rate by removing the non – droppers and adding the highly ranked sites from the list.
Turnip, I do not drop like I used to either. I still have my favorites and the real reason behind my staying is I have all my faves in one place. Unlike my drop list on my tool bar, It also shows me some new blogs still. I also do not use the forum at all.
Etta: I just got done updating all your old links to your new URL. Come visit our forums at http://forums.toptenblogtips.com/index.php
Thanks god there is no affiliate link id in this post!

(review for free …)
Dai: Most of my reviews are for free. If you see me review something really stupid like breakfast cereal, and then a minute later publish a normal post, you can be pretty sure the first post was paid, and the second post was to push it off the top slot. I am for getting paid to blog, against insulting the intelligence of your readers.
Good for you Turnip!
Only kidding, how do this big blogs get to the top of the list constantly. It has to be the traffic they are receiving or the # of drops?
Hi Turnip!
I tried to add my blog yesterday out of curiosity but to my surprise, 2 of my blogs are already in the system.
Like you, I am fascinated on the site’s cool features. ANd I’m glad to see almost all of my top droppers are slowly being included in the system as well.
Thanks for the head’s up.
yes, I agree!
On reviews:
If posting for money with disclosure is like registered prostitution, referring to affiliation under hidded code is cheating. Most people even do not realize that they had been tricked!
(and the reviewer never minds because he has done his job.)
At least one is doing profession(?) and the other is cheating.
Some people feel more safe to be a cheater than to visit prostitutes.
Knowing 2 more lines of code never make one’s ethics to be higher than rest of the world!
