Last night I started working on a business card for my blog.  Having a business card is a requirement to attend conventions and expos.  Although I’ve been to medical device conferences before, I’ve never attended a blog or internet related trade show.  I think visiting one of these shows will be a great chance to network with other bloggers and marketing companies.  Below is my current design which I’ll have printed locally when the time draws near.

The following information was all taken from the Sezwho website.  It took me a few read throughs to actually understand that info, so hopefully I can simplify the instructions.  The point of this guide is to turn off the default plugin settings and only include the Sezwho elements you want to appear.  The benefit of doing this is that the default settings can mess up some WordPress themes.  If you activate the plugin and see your sidebars disappear, have double images next to comments, or some other bug, then this tutorial is for you.

Your site’s not really down.  If you give it a minute it will load once it times out trying to download the Sezwho CSS file.  If you check your browser status bar, it will say something like “connecting to sezwho.com”.  This happened before when Sezwho was under a DDOS attack.  A quick fix is to temporarily disable the Sezwho plugin.  But what about those of us who never want to have to go through this again? 

To permanently fix the issue, you have to cache your Sezwho .CSS file locally:

1.edit wp-content/plugins/sezwho/cpratecomments.php

Before Alexa’s recent change, people complained their ranking numbers were meaningless.  By counting the number of people who visited a site using the Alexa toolbar, they came up with a number.  The fact that the only users who installed the toolbar tended to be webmasters was besides the point. 

Now Alexa has changed their algorithm, making it worse than useless.  I’m surprised my site doesn’t record a negative score seeing how off base their estimates are.  I own 3 websites that get exactly the same visitors nightly.  Thanks to Entrecard, I know who visited and the time of day.  Without fail, [...] Continue Reading…
