Wouldn’t it be nice if you could pay 2cr to automatically send an email to someone asking them to check out your site and maybe drop a card on it if they like it?  Even better, you have no obligation to reciprocate and visit their site.   Guess what?  Entrecard already provides that service.  It’s called  “advertising”

Basic Strategy: Buy up all the 2cr ads available in Entrecard.  Cost: 600cr-2000cr

Following this strategy I bought myself 384 ads with 211 adverts pending approval.  This launched me to the #1 spot on the Top Advertisers page, a nice side bonus to increase your visibility on the Entrecard site.  If you check the Top Advertisers page, you will see many of the Most Popular blogs there as well.  This shows I’m not the only person following this strategy.

Tricks:  While you could use the Unseen page to pick sites, it’s far more efficient to systematically go through each category.  Also, if an advertiser does not respond to your request, leave the pending request.  This way you don’t waste your time in the future with them.  Entrecard will tell you your request already exists for that site.  After your initial blitz, concentrate on the “Recent” category for your new ads first.

Results: The following are my number of ads scheduled to run per day.  On March 1st at Midnite EST my ad cost was 496ec.  I’ll track my card’s value before Midnite through the start of my blitz.  Since I drop on the same 300 people each day, that shouldn’t be a variable.

  • March 1: 11 ads running – 560ec – Advert Clicks: 25
  • March 2: 15 ads running – 600ec – Advert Clicks: 131
  • March 3: 20 ads running – 626 ec – Advert Clicks: 58
  • March 4: 33 ads running – 688 ec – Advert Clicks: 154

Conclusion:  Day 4 and I’m now ranked #8 on the most popular list with a 688ec cost.  I have increased exposure by being #1 in both the Computer & Internet category and the Advertisers category.  Writing some popular articles may have helped, but none of them were advertised on the Entrecard forums.
