You mean stop trying to click efficiently, get more clicks, higher page rank and so on?  No, that would be asinine.  I’m referring to all the people who post in the forum using the phrase  “game the system”.  Whether it be Entrecard, Alexa, or Google.  It’s annoying, so give it a rest.  Are there cheats? Yes.  I found one and reported it.  It was an obvious one so the devs probably caught it themselves.  It was something I did accidentally that shouldn’t have worked that way.  I’m not about to post it here or on the forums.

First of all, if you really want an answer, Google it.  It’s faster than posting in a forum and waiting for a response.  If the response really does tell you how to cheat Entrecard, you, the responder, and anyone using the method will be banned and the post removed.   People who use this phrase are simply forum trolls.  New people too lazy to actually read the forum.  They want to know either “What’s the best site to advertise on” or “How to get the most clicks”.  If they can read English, they can find easy answers without creating another post on the subject.  Entrecard needs to enlist some forum mods soon if things get any bigger.

Secondly, all of you are guilty of gaming the system. Even the self-righteous forum big mouths.  Using Entrecard is “gaming the system”.   You are trying to get more visitors than you normally would from doing nothing.  In the modern world we call this “Advertising and Promotion”.  That must be why Entrecard has over 500 blogs dedicated to internet marketing, SEO, and making money online.  Go ahead and read some of these blogs if you want to learn more.  (If you read this far, you are doing just that)

Finally, know what you are “gaming”.  Are you sure a higher Alexa rank will help you?  How so?  Sure, the wind blows strong out of the mouths of those who will condemn you for trying, but what is actually gained?  For most of the people asking, NOTHING.  Alexa rank is useful if you sell advertising for a monthly time period.  Potential advertisers can get a quick rough estimate of your site traffic.  If they are smart, they will  ask to see a copy of your server stats anyway.  Want to “game the system” instantly?  Change the Alexa widget into an image and put any number you want on there, even a top 100 ranking.

Now if you want to “game the system” and have it benefit you.

  1. Go to a good SEO (search engine optimization) site and read about how to improve your search engine results.  Showing up higher when someone searches Google for “blog about blogging” will get you more traffic than being on page 5 in the results.
  2. Go to a good Internet design site and read how to make your site attractive, functional, and user friendly so people read, stay, and enjoy.
  3. Go to a good Internet marketing site and learn how to convert all those readers into dollars without tricking them, insulting them, or annoying them.
  4. If all that fails, learn to write better and be satisfied that your blog is truly an undiscovered work of art.
