The following scam isn’t new, but it is the first time anyone tried it on turnipofpower.com. It’s also the first time someone tried to scam me through cre8buzz.com. Here is how the scam works. You receive a comment or email saying ” I love your site and want to exchange links with you. I’ve already put a [...]

It’s not just publishers who are signing up for CMF Ads; advertisers are also welcome to join. Most of you may have nothing of your own to sell, so why not sell something for another company? It’s a lot simpler to run an ad on an existing blog than to create a new blog for a niche. Ads [...]

At first glance the Top sites by advertising value in the CMF Ads control panel may appear confusing. Also known as the “Bargain Ads” page, these statistics are simply for traditional marketers who like to advertise on a “cost per ad view” basis. Just because a site has a price of 1 cr per ad, doesn’t mean [...]

In this age of identity theft, who posts their private data online? Certainly not me. I’ve already had my share of death threats from exposing 3rd World spammers pretending to be accountants from Massachusetts. (Right, zeny888?) So why would a social network run by Harvard grads not understand such a simple concept as the right to privacy. [...]

I used to enjoy going to Burger King. Their playroom is great on a winter’s day for the kids to get their energy out and I could get a decent amount of food at a reasonable price. Now I can’t say that any more. The introduction of their “Burger Shots” value meal may have me going back to Fuddruckers [...]

Just check out the before image below as measured by Pingdom Tools. 9.4 second loading time, 54 total objects, [...]

Congratulations to all the winners of the CMF Ads Review contest. Since I’m writing this article before midnight, even I don’t know the t-shirt winner yet. Scroll down to the last paragraph to learn who will be wearing a Turnip of Power T-shirt. I’d like to thank the following 14 people who wrote reviews and commented [...]

Friday’s public launch of CMF Ads went better than expected. Dozens of skeptical bloggers showed up asking questions and were pleasantly surprised what they found. They saw an ad network that caters to bloggers, with helpful and friendly forums that can answer many of your questions about your blog or blogging in general. We doubled our membership [...]

We have a contest winner! CMF Ads is proud to announce Erin from Thirty Something Blog as the winner of the CMF Ads Logo Contest. We changed the colors and added the word “Ads” to her submission, but it was her choice of font that earned her first prize. (or perhaps an anti-turnip bias from [...]

I once laughed when a friend used WordPress 2.7′s auto plugin installer and temporarily hosed his blog. He had uploaded a zipped file that wasn’t a plugin at all. All he had to do was remember his shared hosting login and delete the plugin from the directory. But it made for some comical “OMG, what [...]
