I’ve always wanted to own a blueberry bush. The fruit is delicious, contains no fat or cholesterol, and is high in antioxidants. Last year I checked the prices of 2 year old bushes at the local nursery. They wanted over $40 for the plant. No way I planned to pay that, so I tried an experiment. I put [...]

Time to share my top secret indoor seed starting area. This is the first year I’m starting my own tomatoes from seed. Previously I purchased plants from the local Shoprite supermarket. Last year $3.00 got me 6 plants a little late in the season on clearance. This year using seed purchased from the same store, I paid $0.20 a packet [...]

This is the first year I am trying to start seeds indoors. Last year I planted seeds outside in trays of potting soil or directly in the ground, to mixed results. This season I’m up for trying something new; growing Cherry and Beefsteak tomatoes from seed. If all goes well I won’t be purchasing any more tomato plants from the [...]

Stolen content is a serious issue in the blogosphere. Particularly for me, since my job at CMF Ads is to approve and deny every blog submitted. If most of the content is original barring the occasional image or video, I let it slide. (I’m talking to you, funny cat people). If the majority of content is stolen, [...]

So I’m following myself? Checking the account of this person showed that they had already been suspended. In that short time they had managed to [...]

I just got another of those dreaded automated direct messages thanking me for following them on twitter. I didn’t recall adding this person. In fact, I hadn’t added anyone in over 3 months unless I personally knew them. Could someone have found a way to force me to follow them though some back door? Not likely. Someone thinking [...]

Early this morning I was able to duplicate the missing Spike issue on CMF Ads. First we ruled out members disabling javascript. Those using ad blocking software would not normally be accounted for by most analytic programs. Then we ruled out server error, both the clicker and advertiser were being properly counted. Turns out it [...]

According to my dashboard at CMF Ads, in under 3 days CMF Spike sent it’s 50th visitor to my blog. Below is a chart of the traffic received from Spike. Considering it was Christmas Eve, a time traditionally dead for blogging, I consider these results quite promising. In addition to the 35 Spike visits, there were also 12 visits [...]

One thing we pride ourselves on at CMF Ads is doing things better than the competition. We heard the feedback that campaign screens were too messy and that stats were meaningless if nobody understood them. People wanted a simple yet effective way to deliver readers to their blog at a low cost per click. At [...]
