It’s been 2 months since my last droplist update. Because it takes me over 2 hours to check the stats on 300 sites, I don’t update the list that often anymore. For everyone who wants to download it, here is the link to Turnip’s Entrecard Droplist. Simply unzip the file, open FireFox bookmarks, and import. For those who would like to ad their name to my list next time it updates, read the information about Turnip’s Drop List.
Why is this list useful?
- People new to Entrecard can find sites to drop on that actually drop back. Not sites displaying some stupid badge claiming they return drops, but never do.
- It let’s people drop using their browser as a referrer, not their inbox, which shows up in stats listing Entrecard as the referrer. You don’t want your visit to be counted as “Junk Traffic”.
- Dropping from a list is much faster than using the inbox or even the toolbar, letting you drop first on those who reciprocate most, not those who spam your inbox at midnight.
- It shows overall trends in Entrecard. Using the graph below, you can pretty much calculate that by dropping X number of days in a row on these people, this is how many drops you can expect in return.
- It highlights the most active people in Entrecard who support my site, and the direct correlation between people active in the forums and those that tend to drop 25-30 times a month.

About the chart: On the left are the number of people who dropped that many cards. On the bottom are the number of cards they dropped in 30 days. All these people had 30 cards dropped on them, though not all 30 drops may have registered. The CMF ADS Portfolio is a select group of blogs beta testing a new Advertising Agency. They were handpicked from sites I drop on, and in my opinion are the finest blogs Entrecard has to offer. If you are looking for a good blog to read or advertise on, check out these first.
After removing the people who never reciprocate or had popup ads, 250 people were left on the list. Even with all the Entrecard slowdowns over the last couple of weeks, you can see that the majority of my visitors drop almost every single day. Here’s the secret of Entrecard. Forget the silly advertising for credits nonsense. Drop your 300 cards on the right people and be active in the forums.

Follow-up comment rss or Leave a Trackback **********thanks turnip, i’m always on the lookout for EC droppers who are very active. i’ll be using your list from now on. hope you would keep it updated.
thanks again!
I’ve kept the list updated since January. It’s not easy to update, so I like to wait until after a major Entrecard change, to see who quit and who is new. What I do is drop using my list, then drop on new people who joined Entrecard.
So how will the people be able to drop back once everyone starts dropping on them?
Best case scenario would be that more than 300 people download this list, no?
Thanks for the updated list Turnip. I’ve started checking out the blogs on your CMF ADS Portfolio. Good stuff! Thanks!
Thanks for this list Turnip. I am actually tired of dropping and not getting the same drop back in return…from now on I will be using your list.
Hope it works well with me with regards to getting more traffic.
Yay I made the list!
Jade, I can’t guarantee that someone who I drop on 30 times a month will drop on you at the exact same rate, but normally it holds true. Either people drop or they don’t. The other bit of advice I would give is to drop cards at midnight EST for best results.
I don’t know why every time I post a comment to get on the list my comment’s deleted, but I’m not put on the list…
Anyway, you’re on my droplist now (http://www.basbasbas.com/blog/about-2/my-entrecard-droplist/). Please consider putting me on yours. Thanks.
Bas, Thanks, but one more comment without you reading anything I have written will result in your removal.
Now I know why some of EC members have that CMF Ads on their badges.
Very helpful post I will check out your list, I have visited your blog periodically and I always find something interesting. I need to stop by more often.
I also just included a link to a SezWho post you did a while back in one of my comments it was actually in response to a comment by John B. I see he stops by here, hopefully your post will help him.
Thanks for the info.
Your blog has made the “Top 10 Unknown Blog Tip Websites” over at Video Blogging Tips:
http://www.videobloggingtips.com/2008/09/top-10-unknown-blog-tip-websites.html
This means that your blog is awesome! However, it doesn’t receive as much exposure as it probably should.
With that being said, this article is set to be dug on 10/15/2008 (today) at 9:00 PM Pacific Time.
If you and others digg this article, your site, along with my site will rest on the top of Digg, giving you major exposure.
Again, the only way this will work is if we get hundreds of people to digg this article!
So if you could digg it at 9:00 PM Pacific Time today, 10/15/2008 then you’d greatly benefit from doing so.
Sincerely,
Taylor Thompson
@Turnip:
I’m not sure why you have the impression that I’m commenting without reading what you’re writing. I am quite strict about commentators like that on my own blog, so it would be quite hypocritical of me if I were to do it myself.
I checked the list a couple of times, at different dates and I’m not on it… Yet I never saw a comment explaining why my blog didn’t make it. I don’t think it’s my ‘right’ or anything, to be on your list, but I’m simply curious why my blog doesn’t qualify (since it meets all the standards laid out in your post (I’m above the fold, I have added you to my Technorati favourites, I have requested via comment on the post to add me)). I think I also supplied my Technorati nickname, to avoid any confusion.
I’m not sure what else I should do.
Hi Turnip,
May I know, Why http://www.onlineearns.com is not listed in this upadte??!!
I see, you dropped on my blog everyday before this upadate!!!
And I think I dropped on you more than 20 days.
Pleas put my link in this latest update.
Thanks!
Onlineearns.com has no entrecard. That’s probably the main reson. You think you are clever only showing the Entrecard to people with the toolbar?
Why do you say, no entrecard???!!!
If there is no entrecard, then how did u drop on my blog 30 days in a month???!!
I’m not understanding, what are you saying about?? Why will I show entrecard only for people with the toolbar?
Yes, It’s true. Few days ago I face a problem with entrecard for 2 days. But now that is fixed!
So plz don’t misunderstand and add my blog in this latest update.
Thanks!
oooops,
my EC widget is not working with IE!!!
Ok let me fix it. Thnx for ur comment.
@ murad
Your ec is not working period. I use firefox, it says “no such user”. Maybe you should check before coming out and yelling.
-nhuong
Yes, EC deleted my account for that issue.
But now it is working perfectly .
@ Turnip,
PLZ add my blog in your last droplist update.
Thanks!
Interesting list and makes sense if you are trying to maximize credits, but what are those really worth anyways and is it worth to put in all that time at 12 o’clock at night? I’m not sure.
I just started making a drop list myself, except with a different strategy. This list keeps track of the EC members who have some kind of link/seo benefit for either dropping, advertising, or commenting.
For example, some blogs have do-follow comments, do-follow commentluv and do-follow keywordluv. Some blogs will make a post at the end of each week with links to all of their advertisers. Some blogs make posts with links to the top droppers for each month.
For me, this is the truly value of some of the blogs on Entrecard, it’s worth it for me to visit those blogs, drop a card and leave a relevant comment. It also has value for the other blog as well, as a good relevant comment adds content to the post and thus makes it more likely to get more long tail keywords in the SERPS.
Once I get this list developed more, I’d be happy to share with whoever is interested, just let me know:)
Matt: Lists like yours would help the community. I did something similar a while back: http://turnipofpower.com/2008/09/01/six-highest-page-ranked-blogs-in-entrecard/ and the post did quite well. I don’t maintain such a list, so I think that area is wide open to claim as your own.
