I have to admit I stopped using AdWords around 6 months ago. The Christmas Holidays are the only time that I tend to use paid search. For example, I’ll write an article with links to Holiday Gift Baskets and then drive traffic to the page. It’s always good for a few sales during that time of the year. In the past I’ve played around with AdWords, Yahoo, and the Microsoft networks to mixed results. Now Ask.com gets into the sponsored listing business with a great offer for new customers. $50 credit once you fund your account.
I know I wouldn’t bother trying paid search marketing unless I had a cash voucher, so here it is: Sign up with Ask Sponsored Listings and get $50 Credit. Use Coupon Code: 608CJ50 Go ahead and sign up, fund your account with the minimum, and create an ad. Remember there are certain rules to follow.
Acceptable Sites
Sites must not contain any of the following:
- Online gambling
- Defamatory or offensive material
- Gratuitous or graphic violence
- Material that infringes on or violates the rights of others
- Material that promotes products that are illegal for purchase in the U.S.
- Material that promotes the sale of prescription drugs, unless the site complies with the Ask.com Pharmacy Policy.
- Material that promotes or advertises activities that are illegal in the U.S.
- Pages that sell illegal drug paraphernalia are prohibited
Easy enough rules to follow for an advertiser. Personally, I find Google AdWords to be the best, but I’m willing to try other search engines as long as I get a coupon code. Sign up with Ask Sponsored Listings and get $50 Credit. Use Coupon Code: 608CJ50.
Anyone currently using Ask.com with any success?

Follow-up comment rss or Leave a Trackback **********So I guess pornography and alcohol related ads are allowed, good news. They seem to not have much information out yet though. How much is the minimum? How many visitors can we expect per keyword? Etc.
Imp: I read the fine print on their site and couldn’t find the minimum amount you have to deposit. Yahoo and Google both require $10, I think Microsoft wanted $5. So this should be around the same. Once I get my new credit card I’ll probably open an account and find out for sure.
So you get a free $50 to try it out? Can’t lose on that, can ya?
Well, it’s never to soon to learn how to make a proper landing page, if monetization is your goal. That $50 can go fast if you are totally clueless. If you just want blog traffic, learn to write ads that target the visitors you really want, not just traffic.
Sounds like you got your next post subject. Writing ads.
