I want to you make me an offer I can’t refuse! You tell me how many Entrecard Credits you want for signing up for any or all of the following companies as either an advertiser or publisher. Send me an email at turnip@turnipofpower.com with the subject of “Offer”. I will respond by sending you an email with a credit coupon code, or a note saying “Sorry, too rich for my blood”. Obviously you can’t join those you are a member of already. You don’t even have to use the ads on your site, either. With some companies like Review Me and Sponsored Reviews, I just sign people up, but don’t do the pay per post thing on my site.
- Adbrite - Like AdSense, pays less but they don’t control you like Google.
- Adtoll - Great for Run of Network Ads, I buy advertsing there all the time.
- Bidvertiser Crapvertiser - Another alternative to AdSense.
- Clickbooth - Lot’s of high paying offers.
- Pepperjam - Classier than Clickbooth, and a really slick interface.
- Review Me
- The best paid review company out there. Harder to qualify for.
- Shareasale - Lots of small merchants, the best for niche advertising.
- Sponsored Reviews - Get paid for making posts, easier to qualify for.
- TinyMassive - Get paid per click, and per sale for running their widget.
- A Link to Turnipofpower.com - Link to my wonderful site!
- Sign up for a 1 or 2 year hosting plan with Blue Host using this link.
This offer will expire an the end of July 2008. Don’t be shy. Obviously I will consider paying more for friends and higher ranking sites.

Follow-up comment rss or Leave a Trackback **********I didn’t qualify for Review Me.. I’m currently not using Adsense. Do you think Adbrite is better than adsense? How about bidvertiser?
Havenlei: Review Me is the best, and hardest to qualify for because they like to see an Alexa Rating below 100k. That’s tough, because currently Alexa is nothing more than a random number generator. Install the toolbar in Explorer and Firefox, and that will help quite a bit lowering your own Alexa.
Adbrite and Bidvertiser are about the same. Pepperjam also has a similar text style adbox. None are as good as AdSense, because AdSense pays more per click and has brand recognition. People are just more comfortable clicking their ads for whatever reason.
However, Adsense has many rules, and people are always getting kicked out and warned for violating them. That’s why you don’t want to put all your eggs in one basket.
Another reason I use multiple ad companies is that they all represent different clients. If I know all my friends shop at Newegg.com or zipzoomfly, then I want to have those particular banners on my site.
This is a really nifty idea. Anyway, I’m terrible for naming prices for things on entrecard since I’m new to the site and am not that sure what credits are worth. I’m the owner of Melbel.com (PR2)
How does 1000 entrecard credits sound? Too much? Too little?
Lol, I have courtneytuttle.com open in another window and saw your icon on his MyBlogLog! Ironic! I LOVE courtneytuttle’s work. Much better than John Chow in my opinion!
Mel, sounds good, Email me though. I’m not a huge fan, but not a critic of Coutney’s either. The reason I was there is I asked someone who they would go to to answer a marketing question. They said “courtney tuttle”. So I was obligated to go there and see what he’s been up to.
Oh, haha! I guess I read that wrong. I thought I could get 1000 entrecard ec for linking to your site, I can’t sign up to any of those sites
I’m already a member of all the them!
No problem! I like links too. How many cr for a link back to my site?
I’ve been thinking of trying ads beyond the link exchanges. Which of these would you recommend as being fairly trouble free and not one to sneak in things like pop up windows and links to third party sites?
Laura, of all of them, only adbrite offers the ability to sneak things in, and only if you want it to. Anyone can create their own popups, but I wouldn’t suggest that.
Now your site has a 200k alexa ranking, So review me is out. I would suggest sponsored reviews, but only if they really fit your site, and if they say “do not state this is a sponsored review”.
As for your site, you really don’t have a niche, other than being art, doodles and maybe Canada. To be honest, putting an adsense box in the top right would be my first suggestion.
Now for the companies above. I think shareasale is the least spammy. They represent real businesses with real products, not some “send in your email and hope you win a prize” stuff. I could see you finding some Canadian business or some art supply company. Quite a few listed in the “Art/Music/Photography” section. I have no idea if anyone would click your ad and buy something, but it’s a start.
BTW, wordpress 2.6 running here, tell me if you encounter any errors!
I wanna try “Review Me” but as stated here, it’s tough to qualify. Having a PR0 sucks/high Alexa rating sucks.
A good way to get more sign ups. I also read something similar like this from JohnChow. But, the problem is most of the sites already sign up.
Maybe, you can offer some new sites. It is a great idea, but we need something new here… I’ve stopped doing paid post as well. Maybe, it is time to think about alternative incomes.
Have you heard about the new partnership and the secret contest in Entrecard? Check it out asap. You might earn some credits as well.
Yes, The difference was that Chow’s offers were scams. His offers required a credit card, and if you didn’t read the fine print, you would find all kinds of things being charged after 30 days. My offers do not require any credit card.
Now I realize if you are an established blogger, you ahve already explored many of these companies, and more. I will be doing this abain, and with new companies, but not until October. Why October, that is whent he next marketing convention hits NYC.
As for the Entrecard Announcement, that is my very next post! I love winning credits too! Look for it in about 6 hours. There will be a free download attached too!
Nice contest!will be replying after 1-2 days if m free.
Not keen on Adsense as they seem to take up space and give nothing back. Also, I write on LockerGnome and have my adsense # there. I did just sign up for ShareaSale through your link on this post. I like that they delete accounts for any spamming. Hope that is actually true and not just blowing smoke. Thanks Turnip, for the advice.
I’m not sure about doing ads. And I would love to do sponsored posts however I heard it takes a ton of writing to get anything back in return. If you would place ads and do the posts on my blog which one would they be? I have read of people getting ads XXX ads on their blogs when they are mom bloggers and I fear them.
I’m willing to do both for 100 EC and a link back to your site for 25 EC if you think that is fair.
Sure momto4kidsnym, sounds good to me. There are two types of sponsored posts, the type when someone pays you to write an article, like review me or sponsored reviews, and the type where you sponsor it yourself. For the second type, you need to join an affiliate like shareasale or amazon. Then, when you mention any product in your own article, you link to the product page. This is good for two reasons. People can learn more about what you discussing, and if they buy something while at the site, you get a percentage of the sale as commission.
This is a nice method to monetize a site without any banner ads at all. If you can’t be bothered linking to a product yourself, a company like Konterra will do it for you. Konterra prefers to deal with larger sites. If you would like me to send you a referral from them, I can. First I’ll send your credits from Entrecard.
I decided to try out Tiny Massive and have a widget on my blog. I also added you to my blog roll and tomarrow I will do a post telling my readers about your place. I’m willing to try out Konterra and will start doing reviews about products I use around the house by linking back to amazon.
Make sure you join the affiliate program at amazon before linking. I’ll send the Konterra link soon by email.
