Wouldn’t it be nice if you could pay 2cr to automatically send an email to someone asking them to check out your site and maybe drop a card on it if they like it? Even better, you have no obligation to reciprocate and visit their site. Guess what? Entrecard already provides that service. It’s called “advertising”
Basic Strategy: Buy up all the 2cr ads available in Entrecard. Cost: 600cr-2000cr
Following this strategy I bought myself 384 ads with 211 adverts pending approval. This launched me to the #1 spot on the Top Advertisers page, a nice side bonus to increase your visibility on the Entrecard site. If you check the Top Advertisers page, you will see many of the Most Popular blogs there as well. This shows I’m not the only person following this strategy.
Tricks: While you could use the Unseen page to pick sites, it’s far more efficient to systematically go through each category. Also, if an advertiser does not respond to your request, leave the pending request. This way you don’t waste your time in the future with them. Entrecard will tell you your request already exists for that site. After your initial blitz, concentrate on the “Recent” category for your new ads first.
Results: The following are my number of ads scheduled to run per day. On March 1st at Midnite EST my ad cost was 496ec. I’ll track my card’s value before Midnite through the start of my blitz. Since I drop on the same 300 people each day, that shouldn’t be a variable.
- March 1: 11 ads running - 560ec - Advert Clicks: 25
- March 2: 15 ads running - 600ec - Advert Clicks: 131
- March 3: 20 ads running - 626 ec - Advert Clicks: 58
- March 4: 33 ads running - 688 ec - Advert Clicks: 154
Conclusion: Day 4 and I’m now ranked #8 on the most popular list with a 688ec cost. I have increased exposure by being #1 in both the Computer & Internet category and the Advertisers category. Writing some popular articles may have helped, but none of them were advertised on the Entrecard forums.

Follow-up comment rss or Leave a Trackback **********Hmm… Maybe my strategy of only buying the Most Popular ads needs to be revamped.
Wow that’s some huge amount of advertising.. I have to admit I don’t advertise as much as others
Technically, they don’t receive the 2 EntreCredits that you “paid”.
I doubt if they receive anything at all.
2 x 0.25 = 0.5? Round up, maybe they will get 1 EntreCredits after all.
ZOMG! That is a great battle plan. Why didn’t you have that for us back in December? I could be getting 53 mill hits like Perez.
Deimos: The line reads “pay 2cr” not “pay 2cr to them”. There is a difference, and I have no concern where the 2 cr goes.
Nice plan! I’ve often tried to pick up a lot of the 2ec ones but using the Recent and Unseen tabs sometimes they’re are bit scarce. How long did it take you to track down 384 available 2ec ads?
I’ve used that strategy with my advertising. I like buying in bulk with the “more affordable” ads.
I have found some nice gems (more clicks/cost) in the lower cost ads.
Wow thanks for the tip! I’m going to try this out. Lately I have been saving up credits to purchase on the more higher advertising sites, but I’m going to try this method to see if it works a little bit better.
I may have to consider doing that…I usually only go to one category and buy from low to high, till I run out of ec’s. And again, I don’t drop consistently…but I have started to reciprocate drops using the drops inbox.
I think that is a great idea, and judging from the way all the low cost sites are filling up I think I am not the only one!
Great tip! Thanks.
Yeah, but if everyone buys up all the 2cr slots, will there be any 2cr slots left? Might be time to think up a new strtegy. Luckily, I came up with a new one last night.
Hi,
Nice strategy.
In my recent post about Entrecard Tips I included there that we should advertise wisely. Before I advertise, I check first the blog if it has sufficient visitors regardless of the price, so far I am doing well. I also encourage the Unseen Ones.
Thanks!
But of course, I consider placing ads with the same category as mine. It works for me.
Thanks for sharing what you know.
Congratulations!!I admire you!
Now I got something else to do, thanks for the tip I never actually thought of it that way before.
