showyouradhereIn a strange turn of events, Mr. Fantasy Baseball of Razzball.com fame convinced me to drop Project Wonderful.com and give Showyouradhere.com a chance.  Profits from P.W had really dropped lately, so now was a great time to check it out.  After looking at what this company offers, I’m glad I did.  Although I’ve only been using them for 2 days, they have some very powerful features to take advantage of.

Company Overview: Showyouradhere.com allows you to sell image ads on your blog.  You pick the size of the ad, choose how much to sell the space for, and insert their code into your site.  Simple!  No more emails to respond and keep track of.  But that’s not all…

Showyouradhere.com also functions as a free ad server.  Most of you probably have no idea what an adserver is.   What an adserver does is allow you to insert code once into your website.  Then when you want to change the ad or rotate ads, the adserver does all the work.  You don’t have to edit your site at all.   I already made my own, but their’s is better.  Their adserver features geo-targeting.  That means only people from America will see my Newegg.com ad, because Newegg only ships to the U.S..   Everyone else will randomly see another ad.  The 3 ads surrounding my Entrecard widget are ads hosted using the adserver.  If someone buys them, then they are replaced by the advertiser’s ad and I don’t have to change anything.

The only negative I found was that I couldn’t create a 250×250 ad.  I added the code to my site, but nothing displayed.  No big deal, since most people prefer 125×125 these days.  Another important tip is you have to display the “Show Your Ad Here” text on at least one ad in order for your site to appear in the marketplace.  Though I couldn’t find the following info anywhere on the site, I’ve verified it with current users of the system.  Showyouradhere.com takes a 25% cut of your ad revenue.  When you sell an ad, funds are immediately sent to your account.  Use of their adserver is free, and worth using even if you don’t want to sell ad space.

In my case, I’m so happy with the adserver, I don’t care if I sell an ad or not.  For those determined to sell adspace, determining the proper rate will be the hardest part.  Look at the marketplace for similar sites to use as a guide, or go to http://www.dnscoop.com/.  It will anayze your site and tell you what a monthly ad should cost.
