So many people cry about Entrecard traffic. Bounce rates and time spent on page seem to be the biggest complaints. I thought I would post a few stats and graphs showing the effect of Entrecard on my site and let you be the judge. The first one shows my Alexa rank going from 1,300,000 to around 50,000.

Below we have the advertising stats from Project Wonderful for Computer Tech News. Verifiable by anyone, that spike is from a Stumble. This is interesting, because Computer Tech News doesn’t post in the forums, doesn’t really advertise, and only drops cards. It also uses traditional advertising methods like paid ads at Adtoll and Project Wonderful.

Below we see the stats for the same site, but from Bidvertiser Crapvertiser.

Finally, some people have complained Entrecarders don’t comment. The chart below shows comments per day for Turnipofpower.com. Note that the stats include my own comments.

Follow-up comment rss or Leave a Trackback **********Great analysis. Again though, it really depends on how important these things are. For me, they are important. But for someone else they are less important. 5-10 comments is big for some, but for others small. It really just depends on how successful your blog is before you join Entrecard to compare it to where it is after.
It makes a huge difference to Alexa rating which could give you more advertisers. I really dont think any traffic is useless. Its what a person makes of it that counts.
Interesting graphs there. I am currently compiling a post on entrecard for my readers and planning to include a link to this post. Have also stumbled it for you.
My gameplan is to take all the human traffic you can, and exclude the bots. I installed the “Bad behavior plugin” for WordPress and saw a few hundred bots get shut out. Once I get the humans here, converting them into comment makers, ad clickers, and bookmarkers is the easy part. It’s getting people here once that’s hardest.
*looks again* hey that’s my name !!!
Turnip - awesome stats as always. Keep up the great work. I love this site now that I have been here a lot and I would come back with or without something like entrecard.
Thanks Matt. With all the “Sky is falling” posts in the forums, that might be a real concern.
Woobie! I write these articles just for you!
Congrats on the success! I realize most of the people who complain about Entrecard don’t really work at it.
That’s true Leon. Even a tiny bit of effort shows results. Let’s cut the bull and get down to why some hate entrecard. You can’t pump out 30 crap blogs and promote them all yourself using entrecard. Spammers have tried and failed. That’s why they call it “work” and not marketing. The good old boys think they can throw $50 at adwords and sit back doing nothing. Entrecard doesn’t work that way, deal with it.
Turnip, Nice to have that discussion about EntreCard with you on ahkong.net
Would be interesting if you could join the EntreCard Debate - here: http://www.bloggertoblogger.com/forum/index.php/topic,15.msg27.html#msg27
It’s interesting how there are such contrasting views about the service!
uh, thanks (i think)
I’m still getting into the swing of things with Entrecard. It’s interesting to see your results graphically.
I’ve received jumps of traffic from other sources but find that those few I’ve gotten from Entrecard so far are the ones who actually take the time to check out the site, and leave comments.
Entrecard has increased my traffic tremendously, reduced my Alexa and my Izea RealRank - which is fabulous as I qualify for higher paying opportunities
I’d never visited your blog before finding you through Entrecard - proof positive!!!
Welcome aboard Heather and Joy.
Wow, that sentence sounds so Christmasy when you say it aloud.
Welcome aboard Heather and Joy!
ps. I checked both your sites and added them to my bookmark list.
I am experiencing the same thing … certainly a lot more comments so there are people reading by blog from Entrecard. Nice rise in Alexa. Congrats.
