You can easily create an AdSense block in your posts like the one to the right here. All it requires is one plug-in and simple formatting. The size of the block is determined by the AdSense code, and this method works for both images and text. The plug-in that works best is AdSense-Deluxe. Don’t believe the descriptions in the Wordpress Plugin Repository claiming a certain other AdSense plug-in works better, it didn’t for me. If this particular plug-in interferes with another plug-in on your page, the formatting instructions should work with other AdSense plug-ins as well.
- Unzip the plug-in and upload the AdSense-deluxe.php file to your wp-content/plugin directory, you don’t need any of the extra files included.
- Log into your Wordpress dashboard and activate the plugin.
- Go to the options page and click on AdsenseDeluxe options. Give your ad box a name like 200×200, check the “make default” box, then paste your entire Google adsense code into the “AdSense Code” box. Click “Add Adsense Block” and you are finished.
- Now, to add the AdSense block to an individual post, open the post in the editor and switch from visual to code. Paste <p style=”float: right; ”display: block”><!–adsense–></p> into the box. Save your post and click “preview”. You should now see your AdSense block with text nicely wrapped around it. If you want your AdSense on the left side, then use <p style=”float: left; ”display: block”><!–adsense–></p>
